EPS
Designs
Energy
for Life

EPS researches, develops, produces and sells pulsed power modulators based on state-of-the-art, high efficient semi-conductors, assembled in very flexible and modular Marx topologies which are designed to add value to several industrial sectors such as Food, Feed, Microbiology, CleanTech, Oil & Gas, Automotive and Health.

What
we
stand
for

We believe that technology innovation is sustainable when the social, economic and environmental aspects are considered. That’s why EPS comprises three different perspectives: the scientific know-how — Luis Redondo —, the investment vision — Fernando Barros — and the industrial burst through — Marcos Pereira.

Luís
Redondo

Luis Redondo received the Doctor degree in electrical and computer engineering in
2004, from the Technical Superior Institute, Lisbon Technical University, IST-UTL,
Portugal. He is currently Coordinator Professor at Lisbon School of Engineering, ISEL,
being the Electrical Engineer master’s degree supervisor, teaching Power Electronics
and Pulsed Power. His research interests include solid-state pulsed power technology
and industrial applications. He has published over 100 papers in international journals
and conference proceedings, book chapters, and co-authored several national patents.
In 2011 he founded EnergyPulse Systems, EPS, company that develops, manufactures
and sells solid-state pulsed generators, where he is the technology managing partner. In
2015 he established the Association for the Advancement of Pulsed Power, A2P2, to
disseminate and promote pulsed power technology and applications, where is he
currently Vice-President, being Chair of the Science Made Public, SMP, online
conference from 2020 to 2024.
Luis Redondo is a Senior Member of IEEE from 2015, being the Publications Chair of
Pulsed Power Conference since 2013. He is a member of the Euro-Asian Pulsed Power
Conference, EAPPC, and High-Power Particle Beams, BEAMS, International
Committees. He was the Chair of the EAPPC-BEAMS-MEGAGAUS conference
held in Estoril, Portugal in 2016, and of the Bioelectrics Symposium held in Lisbon,
September 10-13, 2023. From 1 st September 2024 Luis Redondo is the Senior Editor
for Industrial, Commercial, and Biological Applications of Plasmas, of the
Transactions on Plasma Science (TPS), from NPSS/IEEE.
