for Life

EPS researches, develops, produces and sells pulsed power modulators based on state-of-the-art, high efficient semi-conductors, assembled in very flexible and modular Marx topologies which are designed to add value to several industrial sectors such as Food, Feed, Microbiology, CleanTech, Oil & Gas, Automotive and Health.

We believe that technology innovation is sustainable when the social, economic and environmental aspects are considered. That’s why EPS comprises three different perspectives: the scientific know-how — Luis Redondo —, the investment vision — Fernando Barros — and the industrial burst through — Marcos Pereira.

Professor at ISEL (Lisbon Engineering Superior Institute, https://www.isel.pt/en/), Technology Manager at EPS (EnergyPulse Systems, http://energypulsesystems.pt), Vice-President of the A2P2 (Association for the Advancement of Pulsed Power, http://www.a2p2pulsepower.org).

Luís M. S. Redondo was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1968. He received the B.Sc. and Dipl. Ing. degrees in electrical engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL), Portugal, in 1990 and 1992, the M.Sc. degree in nuclear physics from the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), Portugal in 1996, and the Doctor degree in electrical and computer engineering (Pulsed Power Electronics) in 2004, from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (UTL), Portugal. He is currently Coordinator Professor at ISEL, teaching Power Electronics and Pulsed Power. His current research interests include pulsed power systems for industrial applications. Prof. Redondo is a member of the Portuguese Engineering Society.
In 2011 he incorporates EnergyPulse Systems, EPS, and in 2015 e co-founded the non-profit Association for the Advancement of Pulsed Power, for the dissemination of Pulsed Power Technology and Applications.

Marcos D. N. Teotónio Pereira was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1965. He received the Dipl. Ing. degree in physics from the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), Portugal, in 1989, the M.Sc. degree in atomic and molecular physics from the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), Portugal in 1994, and the Doctor degree in atomic physics (high energy pulsed laser interactions with atoms) in 2002, from Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal.

He received a Post-Graduation in Business Administration from Universidade Católica de Lisboa (UCL) in 2006. He was Professor at UBI until 2006 when he joined Lusoforma S.A. as Board Member with responsabilities in R&D and Finance.
